Thimphu, Bhutan 26 August 2025 Autogroup International today confirms that a right hand drive HUMMER EV SUV is now on the road in Bhutan. Operating on high-mountain routes in the Eastern Himalayas, this world-first right hand drive Hummer EV SUV shows that a large, high-tech electric SUV can be engineered, validated and supported for Bhutan’s conditions while benefiting from EV duty reductions, free public charging across all 20 dzongkhags, and a grid powered predominantly by hydropower.
“We’ve placed right hand drive HUMMER EV SUVs in India, Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia, but seeing one running in Bhutan is particularly special — thanks to a wonderful client and the setting,” said Rob Hill, Chief Executive Officer, Autogroup International. “This is an iconic vehicle, reinvented as an EV, and engineered by our team to feel factory-correct on the right-hand side. High altitude, steep gradients, tight roads this is exactly where instant electric torque and precise control make the difference.”

What makes the HUMMER EV SUV iconic and why it suits Bhutan
An icon, reinvented as an EV — The unmistakable HUMMER stance paired with silent, instant
performance.
- Range you can plan around — Up to 500 km on a single charge
- e4WD traction & high output — Dual- or tri-motor power (by configuration) delivers confident starts
on steep grades, stable progress on loose surfaces and effortless overtakes at altitude. - Four-wheel steering — Tightens the turning circle for hairpins and narrow town streets.
- CrabWalk — Low-speed diagonal movement to sidestep obstacles or align precisely on a tight track.
- Extract Mode & Adaptive Air Suspension — Temporary extra clearance and adjustable ride height for mixed surfaces – nearly 6 inches (about 15 cm)
- Under-body camera views — Helps place wheels accurately when shoulders narrow or rocks appear.
- One-pedal driving & strong regeneration — Smooth control on climbs and assured braking assistance on long descents, recapturing energy back into the battery.
- Infinity Roof — Removable panels for open-air drives when the weather invites it.
- Modern cabin tech — Big, clear displays and driver-assist conveniences, delivered as a mirror-image right hand drive cockpit.
